We’ve recently came back from working in the beautiful German state of Saxony helping their Landtag design workshops that include citizens in regards to influencing digital policy.
Just in case you didn't know, there are 16 Federal states in Germany and each state has its own Government which are called a Landtag.
This is something similar to our iSandwell work with Sandwell Council. Here we via the iSandwell Academy project we facilitate participatory workshops training people on a certain issue but play out a series of activities that give us the all important consultation that we need to truly design a codesigned platform.
It was great to work with the team in Saxony and we can’t wait to see how their work pans out.

While we was there was also did a little mapping open data skills within the third sector, we are still collecting information but we’ll be releasing some of our findings soon.
It’s not the first time I’ve had the pleasure of being in German learning about their digitisation agenda when I spend some time in Gütersloh with The Bertelsmann Stiftung, I wrote an article on that experience for The Royal Society of Arts.
We’d like to thank The German Federal Government for the opportunity and I’m really looking forward to coming back.
Now I’ve just got to keep brushing up on my German, für jetzt, sprechen Sie bald.
